Stryker names new vice president of investor relations

Preston Wells takes over from Katherine Owen, who is retiring

Stryker, the US-based medical technology company, has announced that Preston Wells will become its new vice president of investor relations. He will report to CFO Glenn Boehnlein and the role officially starts on June 1.

Wells joined Stryker in 2015, working first as a senior finance director and most recently as vice president of financial planning and analysis.

Prior to those roles, he served as CFO for Dialight, a UK-based company focused on the LED-lighting industry. Earlier in his career, he held finance roles of increasing responsibility at Johnson & Johnson, including financial controller.

Wells takes over Stryker’s IR responsibilities from Katherine Owen, the current vice president of strategy and investor relations, who is retiring to spend more time with her family, according to a company statement. Owen will continue to work as an adviser to the CEO until March 2021 to help with the transition of her duties.

‘We would like to thank Katherine for the many significant contributions she has made to our company and for her demonstrated commitment to our success and growth,’ says Kevin Lobo, Stryker’s CEO and chair, in the statement.

‘Katherine has strengthened our investor relations and business development capabilities, including the completion of many successful value-creating deals. I wish Katherine the very best in this new chapter of her life.’
