People moves: SAP brings in Alexandra Steiger from Goldman to run IR

MGP Ingredients also names new IRO

SAP, the German software and technology giant, has appointed experienced sell-side analyst Alexandra Steiger as its new global head of IR, effective July 1. Steiger will join from Goldman Sachs, where she is currently executive director within the global investment research division, covering US internet stocks.

Prior to Goldman, Steiger spent nearly 10 years at UBS, where she served as executive director within the equity research team. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international business administration from the University of Maastricht, along with a master’s degree in international management from Erasmus University Rotterdam and University of St Gallen.

‘I am very happy Alexandra is joining SAP,’ says Dominik Asam, SAP’s CFO, in a statement. ‘We will benefit from her leadership and the wealth of expertise she brings from her previous responsibilities. In her new role, she can build on the strong foundation laid by Anthony Coletta and the entire investor relations team.’

In March, SAP announced that Coletta, the current chief IR officer and a 17-year veteran of the company, was stepping down to pursue a new opportunity outside of the business.

In other IR moves, MGP Ingredients, the Nasdaq-listed provider of branded spirits and food ingredients, has named Amit Sharma as vice president of IR. Previously, he served as vice president of IR at sweet snacks company Hostess Brands.

Prior to IR, Sharma worked for more than 10 years as a sell-side analyst at BMO Capital Markets, where he focused on the food and beverage sectors.

‘We are thrilled to welcome Amit to our team,’ says David Bratcher, MGP Ingredients’ CEO and president, in a statement. ‘His extensive experience and proven track record in investor relations will be invaluable as we continue to execute on our strategic objectives and enhance our communication with the financial community.’
