Panel announced for European judged awards

IR veteran Catherine James joins judging panel

The panel of judges has been announced for the self-entry categories at the IR Magazine Awards – Europe 2017. Senior investment professionals alongside IR Magazine deputy editor Candice de Monts-Petit are now reviewing the contenders’ applications in the run-up to this week’s vote.

Joining the buy-siders this year – Heinrich Ey, co-CIO for European mid/small cap at Allianz; Abigail Herron, head of responsible investment engagement at Aviva Investors; Nicholas Melhuish, head of global equities at Amundi – is former IR veteran Catherine James. An Oxford graduate, James was head of IR at Diageo for nearly 20 years after serving as divisional CFO for the firm’s predecessor Grand Met.

Now in their second year, the self-nomination categories have been expanded to include awards for best IR during a corporate transaction, best ESG communications, best crisis management, best IR website and two prizes for best annual report (large cap and small to mid-cap).

The awards, to be held on June 21 in London, will also unveil the winners of awards for best investor event and best use of multimedia for IR, as well as this year’s rising star, which last year went to Martin Kjær Hansen from Denmark’s ISS.

Stay tuned for short list announcements on Friday, May 26.
