Mitie appoints new IR and corporate affairs director

LSE communications director steps up to senior IR role at facilities management firm

Tori Cowley has been appointed by London-based firm Mitie as group director of corporate affairs and IR, reporting to CEO Phil Bentley.

A chartered accountant, Cowley started her career at PwC, later moving on to corporate finance and communications advisory. She subsequently served as head of corporate affairs for EMEA and head of financial communications at Thomson Reuters.

She joins the British facilities management firm from London Stock Exchange Group, where she’s been leading communications and marketing since 2010.

‘We are delighted Tori has joined Mitie,’ says Bentley in a press release announcing the appointment. ‘She is a highly experienced professional, with a deep and broad understanding of brand, communications and capital markets. She has an impressive track record helping businesses execute ambitious strategies and delivering successful corporate affairs programs, often in periods of significant change.

‘A chartered accountant who also has proven expertise in all aspects of reputation management, her skills and experience will be invaluable to Mitie, as we roll out our new Connected Workspace strategy. We are very much looking forward to having her on board.’

Cowley will be joining the firm’s executive leadership team, a move that reflects the large number of high-profile IR-cum-corporate affairs professional appointments made recently.
