DBS is top performer in the IR Magazine Awards – South East Asia

Winners of this year’s IR Magazine Awards ‒ South East Asia unveiled in Singapore

DBS Group tops the table this year, winning a total of six categories in this year’s IR Magazine Awards ‒ South East Asia, including the grand prix for best overall investor relations by a large-cap company. The awards were presented today at the annual ceremony at Singapore Exchange.

This follows two years in third place for DBS, which also ranks third this year in the all-Asia Top 50, behind Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and PetroChina. Last year’s South East Asia grand prix winner, CapitaLand, ranks fifth this year, while last year’s runner-up, StarHub, comes third. Other multiple winners at the event include Thailand’s Kasikornbank, Metro Pacific Investments and PTT Exploration and Production from the Philippines, Olam International, SingTel and StarHub.

The winners of the IR Magazine Awards – South East Asia 2014 were identified solely by means of an independent survey of investors and analysts, all of whom are located in the region. More than 400 members of the Asian investment community either completed an online survey or spoke to researchers from Mary Maude Research in London, which undertook a telephone survey in June and July this year. The purpose of the investor perception study was both to ascertain which companies and individuals are providing the best investor relations service and to discover current levels of satisfaction with the standard of investor relations more generally.

Companies eligible for the South East Asia awards are those headquartered in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand. The survey also covers companies in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and awards for those areas were presented at the IR Magazine Awards – Greater China at Bank of America’s offices in Hong Kong on Thursday, December 4.

The full Asia Top 50 will be announced when the IR Magazine Investor Perception Study – Asia 2014/2015 is published [next week]. This annual report on IR in Asia documents all the awards and rankings this year from both Greater China and South East Asia, as well as profiling top companies and reporting extensive feedback from the Asian investment community.
