New IRO at Euromax Resources

Canadian gold and base metal mining company takes investor relations in-house by appointing Karen Atchison

Euromax Resources, a Canadian mining firm listed in Toronto and Frankfurt, has promoted Karen Atchison to the newly created position of investor relations manager.

She joined Euromax last March to coordinate the efforts of its IR consultant Torrey Hills Capital and will now lead the company’s in-house IR team.

Atchison is a geography graduate from the University of Nottingham, and completed an additional professional diploma in marketing at London Metropolitan University. She started her career as a geographic information systems technician at the Rural Payments Agency and then at utility Thames Water.

She brings to Euromax her strong track record in kick-starting investor relations for mining start-ups. In 2006 she was hired by European Goldfields, another Canadian mining company, to set up and develop its investor relations department.

The company, which exploits precious metal mines in Greece, Romania and Turkey, had developed from a small metal producer to a $2.5 bn gold mining business and was acquired earlier this year by competitor Eldorado Gold.

Euromax has gold and base metal assets in Bulgaria, Serbia and Macedonia and aims to become a world-class mining company in south eastern Europe.
