How Asia Aviation won the best IR website category at the IR Magazine Awards
Looking for inspiration for your IR website? A good place to start is Asia Aviation, which won the best IR website category at the IR Magazine Awards – South East Asia 2019.
The award was decided by a panel of judges, featuring experts from the buy side and sell side. Commenting on Asia Aviation’s website, one judge said: ‘It features good use of animation and charts to simplify and better communicate the numbers to investors. It is clean, easy to navigate and comprehensive in terms of details.’
Below, Pattarawan Sookplang, senior IR manager at Asia Aviation, explains how her company overhauled its IR website.
Given the technological developments of recent years, the majority of companies have come to realize that their IR website – the traditional online IR tool – is still the most powerful and relevant platform for engaging with the investment community.
The IR website should not be static but rather allow for interactive communication with its public and use the power of the internet to provide investors with all the information they need.
We decided we needed to improve our previous corporate website, so we conducted a gap analysis with global best practice websites, and combined that with user feedback from our ongoing website survey. The implementation took six months including design and coding.
The corporate home page has a completely new design. It features video and animation that deliver the investment message, the company’s performance in brief, an IR corner with the stock price and latest news, and other key information.
Within the IR section, our aim has been to make accessing important information quick and easy. For example, the operating statistics and financial highlights are presented in interactive charts and spreadsheets, allowing for personalization.

To keep up with best practices, the IR website also includes elements such as a company factsheet, interactive stock chart, the latest presentation, webcasts, analyst contact information, an IR code of conduct, FAQ, IR contact information and the opportunity to sign up for email alerts.
The company also provides a sustainability web page covering social, economic and environmental concerns. Sustainability is becoming much more important to the company due to the growth of responsible investment strategies.
Additionally, the website contains archived financial information and annual reports going back to before our IPO. Navigation is compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Safari and the latest version of Internet Explorer. We are pleased to report that since its launch, the website has recorded a year-on-year increase in unique visitors.
