Tyler Burns, investor relations, Canopy Growth Corp
Tyler Burns is a recognized leader in the Investor Relations, Marketing and Public Relations professions with over 20 years of international business experience. Since early 2016, Tyler has been driving IR activities at Canopy Growth Corporation, the world’s largest diversified cannabis company, through historic public listings on the TSX and NYSE, both firsts for cannabis companies, multiple equity and debt financing rounds that have raised over CDN $6B in development capital, and the ending of the prohibition of cannabis in Canada.  A key focus of Mr. Burns’ activities is re engineering the Canopy Growth’s shareholder to increase institutional ownership. Prior to assuming his role at Canopy Growth, Tyler was the Director of Investor Relations at Wi-LAN Inc., a dual-listed (TSX, NASDAQ) firm focused on intellectual property licensing.  Tyler is a past board member of the Ontario Chapter of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute, a co founder of two technology companies, including a fabless Wi-Fi semiconductor company, and is a recipient of the Ottawa Business Journal’s “Top 40 under 40” award. 

Laurie Havelock, editor-at-large, IR Magazine
Laurie Havelock is a journalist, writer and podcaster who has been working on financial titles for more than 5 years, dabbling with commercial property finance, responsible investment and investor relations as his main areas of focus. Outside of that he also writes about music, with a predilection for independent and emerging artists, has worked on a number of comedy projects, including a podcast he makes with musical comedian Paddy Gervers called Podshambles, and hosts a weekly show on Shoreditch Radio. Laurie has been published in the Independent, the Guardian and Q Magazine.

Laura Lepore, vice president, investor relations & communications, MediPharm Labs
Laura Lepore brings more than 16 years of award-winning Investor Relations, Communications and Capital Markets experience across Financial, Industrial and Mining sectors. Laura was most recently AVP, Investor Relations at Home Capital Group Inc. and led IR through two significant transactions and a governance renewal. During her tenure with TD Bank Financial Group she held various roles in IR and Corporate Banking. Previously Laura was Director of IR for Newmarket Gold and Crocodile Gold.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts, Economics from York University and is currently a Board Director for the Canadian Investor Relations Institute, Ontario Chapter.

Kenneth Shea, senior analyst, Bloomberg Intelligence
Kenneth Shea is a senior analyst for Bloomberg Intelligence, a unique research platform that provides context on industries and companies, available on the Bloomberg Professional Service at BI <GO>. Kenneth oversees consumer products research content and related value-added data displays covering the broad packaged food, beverages and tobacco products industries globally.

Kenneth offers more than 20 years of related consumer products investment research experience across both equity and fixed income security analysis. Prior to joining Bloomberg, he was a managing director of Standard & Poor’s Corporate Ratings, where he produced credit research on public and private consumer products companies. Before that, he held a number of prominent positions, including S&P global equity research director, chairman of the S&P Investment Policy Committee, and member of the S&P Index Committee. He began his career at S&P in 1986 as an equity analyst, covering the global food, beverages and tobacco industries.

Kenneth earned his bachelor’s of science degree from The University of Maryland, and his master’s degree in business with a specialization in finance from Rutgers University. He is a member of the Consumer Analyst Group of New York, and has been a frequent contributor to the prominent television and print media for his insight on the consumer products sector and related topics.
