Ed Beal, senior investment manager, Aberdeen Asset Management
Edward Beal is a senior investment manager on the UK and European equities team at Aberdeen Asset Management, part of Aberdeen Standard Investments, which he joined when Aberdeen Asset Management merged with Standard Life in August 2017. He originally joined Aberdeen Asset Management via the acquisition of Edinburgh Fund Managers in 2003.

Beal graduated with a BSc in biochemistry from the University of Dundee and is a CFA Charterholder.

 

Caroline Escott, defined benefit and investment policy lead, PLSA
Caroline Escott leads the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association’s (PLSA) work on issues including Mifid II, the Competition and Markets Authority’s investigation into investment consultants, and cost transparency.

Previously, she led on investment and pensions policy as senior policy adviser at the Personal Investment Management and Financial Advice Association and was head of government relations at the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association, where she worked with asset managers and pension funds on responsible investment issues. She has also held roles providing financial policy analysis to MPs and undertaking fixed income research for a large asset management firm.

Escott has a master’s degree in international political economy from the London School of Economics and a degree in economics with politics from the University of Warwick.

 

Garnet Roach, senior reporter, IR Magazine
Garnet Roach joined IR Magazine in October 2012, working on both the editorial and research sides of the publication. Prior to entering the world of investor relations, her freelance career covered a broad range of subjects, from technology to politics and consumer finance, and even involved a stint as a reporter and editor in Sana’a, Yemen.

Since graduating from City University in London in 2003, where she studied journalism, Roach has worked as a freelance reporter at titles including GlobalPost.com, PC Advisor and The Big Issue.
