This research report from IR Magazine looks at the importance of the broker in the eyes of the IRO. Our findings show the current status of analyst coverage and the increasing tendency of IROs to go it alone. We examine why and how this affects companies in terms of their region, market cap and sector.

A total of 814 IR professionals responded to the Q1 2016 Global IRO Survey asking for their perspective on their company’s sellside analyst coverage. This report examines the quality of their interaction with those analysts and the trajectory of their reliance on sell-side coverage. 

Respondents to this report have been analyzed by geographical region, market cap size, sector and analyst coverage. The three main regions being compared are North America, Europe and Asia. 

The 10 sectors used in this report are communications, consumer discretionary, consumer staples, energy, financials (including real estate), healthcare, industrials, materials, technology and utilities.
