Intelsat names Tahmin Clarke as vice president of investor relations

Experienced IRO held previous roles at Ligado Networks and NII Holdings

Intelsat, the satellite services company, has appointed Tahmin Clarke as vice president of investor relations.

Clarke reports to David Tolley, Intelsat’s CFO, and is responsible for the company’s interactions with both equity and debt investors, as well as sell-side analysts.

He joins Intelsat from Ligado Networks, another satellite services operator, where he served as vice president of IR for three and a half years.

Prior to that, he spent 10 years at NII Holdings, a mobile communications company, where he held roles of increasing responsibility, rising to become vice president of IR and corporate communications.

Earlier in his career, he worked in equity research at Legg Mason, the US asset manager.

‘Tahmin’s financial acumen and deep expertise in leading investor communications in the communications sector will serve as a tremendous asset to us, especially during this time of industry transition as we evaluate our future opportunities,’ says Tolley in a company statement.

Intelsat is searching for backers for a bankruptcy loan to tide the company over while it waits for a government auction of satellite spectrum, reported Bloomberg in a story published April 14.
