Marinus Pharmaceuticals hires former journalist as vice president of IR and corporate communications

Sasha Damouni Ellis worked as financial journalist for more than 10 years

Marinus Pharmaceuticals, the US pharmaceutical company focused on rare seizure disorders, has appointed Sasha Damouni Ellis as its new vice president of investor relations and corporate communications.

Most recently, Damouni Ellis worked as director of external communications and media relations at Bayer US, a subsidiary of global pharmaceutical company Bayer.

Prior to that role, she spent more than a decade working as a financial reporter – one of the less common career paths into investor relations

Damouni Ellis served as a senior healthcare journalist at Bloomberg News for more than six years, covering topics including regulation, drug development and M&A.

Before that, she launched and was global editor of BioPharm Insight, a provider of life science news and analytics, which was formerly part of the Financial Times Group. She also held the roles of senior reporter and editor at Mergermarket.

‘I am excited to be joining the Marinus team, which has shown a profound commitment to providing desperately needed treatments for patients with serious orphan seizure disorders,’ says Damouni Ellis in a statement.
