IR Magazine announces agenda for Canada Think Tank

How to deal with activist activity and target new investors to be discussed at Toronto Stock Exchange

Part of the agenda for the IR Magazine Think Tank – Canada 2016 has been announced. The event, for senior-level IR professionals based in Canada, will take place on October 5, 2016 in Toronto.

Up for conversation at the event includes what investor relations teams can expect after activist investors start looking at their company. The session will focus on activist activity and the tests it presents to IROs. A panel of experts will be sharing their real-life experience and advice.

Also on the agenda is investor targeting, where speakers will discuss the best practices for attracting investors in the US and further afield. Attendees will learn which part of the world investors are putting their money into and strategies for fine-tuning investor outreach.

Speakers this year include Lioudmila Abramova, manager of ELITE Connect, a digital platform for listed companies, institutional investors and intermediaries. Abramova has been with the group since 2016, prior to which she worked with the London Stock Exchange in Milan, Italy for three years.

She will be joined by one of Canada’s leading special situation practitioners ‒ is Walied Soliman, co-chair of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Canadian special situations team. The team works on Canada’s leading shareholder activist and defense mandates as well as complex reorganization transactions.

IR Magazine is in the process of finalizing its agenda. To see what is currently planned, please check out the event page.
