Walmart hires Jefferies analyst as new IR head
Walmart has appointed Dan Binder, a former sell-side analyst, as its new vice president of investor relations. He now reports to CFO Brett Biggs.
Binder joins the retail behemoth from Jefferies where he spent 11 years, most recently serving as managing director and head of the global consumer group.
The Saint John’s University graduate, who started his career covering the airline industry at the Transportation Group, has also worked at Morgan Stanley, Brown Brothers Harriman and Buckingham Research.
He succeeds IRO of almost two years Steve Schmitt, who has moved on to serve as senior vice president and CFO for Sam’s Club, a chain of retail warehouse clubs owned by Walmart.
