VMware has new IR director

Virtualization branch of EMC Corporation hires IT investor relations veteran Paul Ziots

VMware, the Palo Alto-based virtualization software company, has hired Paul Ziots as investor relations director. He joins from Oracle where he has been an IR director since 2010. He replaces Mike Haase, formerly vice president of investor relations.

Ziots, who earned both an MBA and an MA in Asian studies from the University of Michigan, has spent most of his career in the IT and software spheres, starting out as a production control supervisor for Texas Instruments.

Following on from his Japan-focused education, he worked as an English teacher for Japan’s Ministry of Education and as a human resources manager for Texas Instruments Japan.

After a short spell as a finance and commodity manager for General Motors, Ziots joined Sun Microsystems in 1995, where he spent six years in various operational roles before moving on to investor relations. He left to join Oracle after eight years in Sun’s IR department.

Ziots is a current member of the board of directors of NIRI’s Silicon Valley chapter.
