New IRO at Goodyear

Assistant treasurer promoted as former IRO moves to treasury full time

Akron, Ohio-headquartered Goodyear has appointed Christina Zamarro to serve as vice president of investor relations, reporting to CFO Laura Thompson.

‘Christina combines a deep knowledge of the Goodyear business and the tire industry with an in-depth understanding of the financial markets as well as strong leadership and communications skills,’ says Thompson in a company press release. ‘I look forward to her contribution to this key role interacting with the investor community.’

The promotion comes as former head of IR and treasury Tom Kaczynski has been called to ‘continue leading [the firm’s] treasury team and providing strong focus for treasury activities.’

An economics graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and MBA alumnus of the Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management, Zamarro started her career at Ford Motor in the financial planning and analysis department, later working in various treasury areas including capital markets, interest rate derivatives and foreign exchange management.

She joined Goodyear in 2007 as a treasury manager, and has been an assistant treasurer for capital markets and risk management, with responsibility for the firm’s ‘global capital markets, creditor relations, risk management and pension asset management activities’ since 2010.

The tire and rubber maker, which was founded in 1898, is world-renowned for its Goodyear Blimp, the first of which flew in 1925. The NASDAQ-listed firm now employs more than 70,000 people and posted revenues of $19.5 bn in 2013.
