Nasdaq, the New York-headquartered financial services corporation, has appointed Ato Garrett as senior vice president of IR. He reports to Ann Dennison, executive vice president and CFO at the company, and now leads the firm’s global IR strategy and its engagement with the investment community.
Most recently, Garrett was senior director and head of investor relations at Veeva Systems, a provider of cloud software to the life sciences industry. Prior to that, he spent 10 years as a sell-side analyst at companies such as Guggenheim Securities and Deutsche Bank.
Garrett holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and management from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and an MBA in accounting, finance and strategy management from the Chicago Booth School of Business.
‘Ato’s extensive investor relations and equity research experience will help strengthen our ability to articulate our strategy as we seek to capitalize on the trends shaping the financial system to unlock new growth opportunities for our clients and shareholders,’ says Dennison. ‘We are pleased to welcome him to Nasdaq.’
Commenting on his new position, Garrett says he is excited to join the team and contribute to the company’s strategic journey.
‘From Nasdaq’s founding as a capital markets pioneer to the scaled financial technology provider we are today, I look forward to working closely with the leadership team to communicate Nasdaq’s strong competitive position to the investment community,’ he says.
