Box IR expands with Ericsson head of investor relations

Swedish IR consultancy firm names Åse Lindskog as latest addition

Ericsson’s former investor relations and press manager, Åse Lindskog, has moved to Box IR, after 12 years at the telecoms firm.

New senior partner Lindskog says she hopes to be involved ‘in a number of exciting communication cases, including M&A deals – both domestic and cross-border – IPOs and corporate issues’, adding that the skills she gained at Ericsson, where she served almost three years as head of IR, are a good match for Box IR.

‘I have handled a broad range of communications issues, from the change of corporate culture to profit warnings, major restructurings, M&A, new CEOs and espionage ‒ you name it,’ she says. ‘I hope to be able to apply this experience to other companies and organizations in the future together with the Box IR team.’

Prior to joining Ericsson, Lindskog worked as a journalist, an equity analyst at Swedbank Robur and general secretary of the Swedish Society of Financial Analysts. She also worked on corporate governance issues at Sweden’s Ministry of Enterprise.

Looking to the future, Lindskog says: ‘We still have to handle the mixed signals from economies in different continents. I suppose we will also see the investment banks continue to struggle with their costs.’ She says this challenging mix will mean a greater analyst demand for ready-made corporate content.

‘When I joined Ericsson 12 years ago, we started to see this development in the media industry where fewer reporters are supposed to cover more, quicker,’ she adds. ‘That’s been challenging for corporate media relations teams.’

Stockholm-based Box IR was set up in 2010 by Mikael Zillén and Tomas Öqvist, who each bring more than 15 years’ capital markets and financial communications experience to the firm. The company also added Swedbank’s former head of equity research, Anders Bruzelius, in October last year.
