How the IR Magazine Awards work

The voting is underway for the IR Magazine Awards – Europe 2015

This is an edited version of IR Magazine's weekly newsletter. You can register for free to receive the newsletter here.

Here at IR Magazine we receive a lot of questions about how our award winners are selected. For example, how can companies enter? Given that the voting for our IR Magazine Awards – Europe 2015 is about to begin, I thought I’d run through how the awards work to clear up a few points.

First of all, you don’t need to enter! What we do is we send out a survey to investors and analysts who cover the European market and ask them to name the best performers in IR across a range of categories. Any company based in Europe, or any IRO working for a European company, is eligible to receive a vote.

What you can do is remind your investors and analysts that the awards survey is coming round, so they watch out for it arriving in their inboxes. If you know any who haven’t received an email from us, please tell them to get in contact with our research manager Lloyd Bevan and we’ll send them a survey link. Any portfolio manager, buy-side analyst or sell-side analyst who is based in Europe is able to cast a vote.

The survey is followed up by phone interviews to increase the number of respondents and make sure that all sectors, market caps and regions are sufficiently covered. Then we tally up the votes, and whoever receives the most mentions in each category wins the award. There is no filtering of the results by anyone at IR Magazine; the nominees and winners are chosen directly by your constituents.

The nominees will be announced in April and then the awards themselves take place on June 30 in London. This year we’re very excited to be holding the event at the excellent venue The Troxy for the first time. Best of luck and if you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
