Two key IR hires at Rostelecom

Russia’s national telecom operator brings in new vice president of strategic planning and IR and new head of IR

Maria Florentieva has been appointed vice president of strategic planning and investor relations by state-owned, MICEX-listed Rostelecom.

An economics graduate of Moscow State University and MBA alumnus of the London Business School, Florentieva, who formerly spent more than 10 years in investment banking, will also join the firm’s board of directors, according to a company press release. She was previously a managing partner at WebMediaGroup, a Moscow-based, internet-focused venture capital firm, where she oversaw finance, corporate development and IR.

Rostelecom has also announced the promotion of Ekaterina Ustinova, who spent the past year as head of the project office in Rostelecom’s Moscow branch, to the position of head of IR. She succeeds Masha Eliseeva, the company’s IR director of nearly three years who won the IR Magazine Award for best investor relations professional (small and mid-cap) in Russia in both 2009 and 2010.

Ustinova graduated from the international economic relations faculty at MGIMO University and started her career in banking before joining National Telecommunications, a Rostelecom subsidiary, in 2006 to manage the private placement of shares.
