Karli Anderson joins Royal Gold

Mining sector IR specialist named new vice president of investor relations

Royal Gold, a Colorado-based precious metals company, has appointed Karli Anderson as vice president of investor relations.

Starting her new role on May 15, Andersen will progressively take over IR activities from Karen Gross, the firm’s corporate secretary, who will retire in July. In addition to investor relations, Anderson will oversee Royal Gold’s HR and compensation programs.

A telecommunications system graduate of Ohio University and an MBA alumnus of the Wharton School of Business, Anderson has more than 15 years’ experience in finance and investor relations, mostly gained in the mining and energy spheres. She also serves as chairman of the Denver Gold Group, an industry association promoting investments in the precious metals sector.

She is joining the company from gold miner Newmont Mining Corporation, where she’s been a senior director of investor relations since 2010. She held previous IR director roles at silver and gold producer Coeur d’Alene Mines and renewables firm Evergreen Energy.

Royal Gold manages a portfolio of approximately 200 precious metals royalties on six continents, with flagship interests located in Canada, Chile and Mexico. It has enjoyed these past years’ high metal price environment, posting record levels of revenue and profit in 2012. Its shares, which are listed on both NASDAQ and TSX, have also steadily increased by 230 percent between 2007 and 2012.
