Bull appoints new IRO

Vincent Biraud joins from digital security group Gemalto

Bull, the French computer and IT services group, has appointed Vincent Biraud as investor relations officer. Peter Campbell, Bull’s IR director of six years, left the company last July to take up a new position at French defense group Safran, serving as vice president of investor relations.

A graduate of French engineering school École Nationale Supérieure de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace, Biraud started his career in 1993 at Dassault Electronique, later part of French electronics major Thales, where he served as marketing manager from 1997 to 1998.

In 1999 he joined oil service company Schlumberger, holding various positions in marketing and financial control during the following six years. He also served as chairman for SIMalliance, the mobile services trade association, from 2000 to 2001.

From 2003 to 2005, Biraud was a marketing manager covering the EMEA region for Axalto, Schlumberger’s smart card division which was spun off. In 2007 he was involved in the comapny's merger with smart card producer Gemplus, serving as director of strategy and M&A for the newly created Gemalto. In 2008 he was appointed investor relations officer for the group.
