The judges were impressed with Bindu Menon’s passion, focus and ability to implement change. Her main gripe about KLCCP Stapled Group was that analysts had hardly any access to senior management and did not have sufficient data to write their reports because the company was not transparent enough.

Bindu’s main objective was putting KLCC Stapled Securities (KLCCSS) on the radar of the investing community: she was committed to enhancing long-term value through investor positioning and effective communication with the investment community to project consistent brand equity to the market. Her immediate challenge was to get top management buy-in and support to run the show she wanted in order to turn around the firm’s reputation in the market and create the firepower needed to propel the organization forward.

With fully focused IR goals, Bindu successfully set up the IR department and built a reputable team. She held continuous engagement with senior management, bringing value-added insights in strategically positioning KLCCSS in the eyes of the investment community to be superior, relative to its peers. She networked with industry players and the IR fraternity and established good rapport with analysts, fund managers and IR professionals, building upon the reputation of KLCCP Stapled Group.

Other achievements include improving the annual report, driving the strategy and implementation of sustainability initiatives, and significantly improving the sustainability reporting. Consequently, KLCCP Stapled Group has made significant strides and built upon its leadership position in the industry, adding to the brand and enhancing its commercial reach.
