Major firms compete for Greater China Awards

Seven companies aim to win best overall IR in large-cap category

Some heavyweight organizations are competing for major awards at the IR Magazine Awards – Greater China 2016, which will be held in Hong Kong in December. 

The category for best overall investor relations (large cap) includes:

– Cathay Financial Holding, the Taiwan-based group composed of insurance, securities, banking and other diversified financial institutions, nominated in five categories

– China Mobile, the Chinese state-owned telecommunications company. The company recently revealed that its profits rose 3.1 percent for the first nine months of the year as the company’s expanded 4G network drew new subscribers

– China Telecom, another Chinese state-owned telecommunications company, and the third-largest telecommunications provider in China

– China Unicom, also state-owned, which is the world’s fourth-largest mobile service provider by subscriber base

– China Vanke, a large residential real estate developer

– MediaTek, the Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company that provides system-on-chip solutions for wireless communications, HDTV, DVD and Blu-ray

– Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, the world’s largest dedicated independent semiconductor foundry, with its headquarters in Taiwan.

In the small & mid-cap category for best overall IR, the contenders are:

  • Anta Sports, a branded sportswear company
  • China Metal International, an investment holding company that designs, develops, manufactures and sells customized metal castings
  • Far East Consortium International, a group mainly engaged in property development and investment
  • Kerry Logistics, a service provider that offers services ranging from supply chain management to customized e-commerce solutions
  • Sa Sa International, a leading cosmetics retailer in Asia
  • TCL Communication Technology Holdings, a Chinese multinational electronics company
