Suzano’s head of IR leaves for pastures new

Tiago Fernandes returns to General Electric

Brazilian pulp and paper firm Suzano has revealed that its head of IR for the past two years is leaving the company, with Michelle Corda, the firm’s IR manager, taking over.

Prior to heading up the company’s investor relations, Fernandes served as CFO at the Salvador-headquartered firm’s renewable energy venture, which was suspended in 2013. At the time, the company said Suzano Renewable Energy and another project – the Planalto Piauí Project – would ‘be suspended until the company’s leverage falls below 2.5 times net debt/EBITDA, and macroeconomic and market conditions improve.’

But Fernandes has now moved to a role at GE Healthcare Latin America, having held five separate positions within the General Electric family between 2004 and 2011, including a number of analyst, risk and financial manager roles.

Corda, who joined the Suzano investor relations department more than four years ago, will now lead the team, reporting directly to CFO and IR director Marcelo Bacci, at what is one of the world’s largest paper and pulp companies, with around 30 brands sold in 60 countries.
