IR Society names replacement for Michael Mitchell

Former head of IR at SGX will take on general manager role in October

With Michael Mitchell retiring at the end of the year, the investor relations community in the UK had been waiting for the IR Society to name a successor for its general manager of almost six years.

The London-based organisation announced yesterday that John Gollifer, the former head of investor relations at Singapore Exchange (SGX), will take over as the new general manager in October.

Gollifer is a seasoned finance professional with over 15 years of experience in equity capital markets and corporate finance across Europe and Asia.

He joined SGX in 2001, and was promoted to head the investor relations department in 2003.

In 2006, he contributed actively to the creation of the Investor Relations Professionals Association (Singapore).

Gollifer graduated with a BA in politics and economics from Loughborough University and with an MBA from the Henley Business School at Reading University.
